Many articles and blogs list different types of foods and beverages as the best foods for burning fat. But what exactly makes them burn fat so well?

Many people have been fooled into the "hype" of magic pills that provide short term solutions to long term issues. Most however do accept that nutrition and exercise are the two key proven features to burn fat effectively.

Fat burning is the process where free fatty acids are used for fuel as opposed to glucose (human blood sugar). Fat burning is the correct way to control weight loss. And again remember that the real issue for fat burning is total calories expended.

Think of your calorie intake like a bank account. If your money (calories) coming in exceeds your expenses you won't lose any money on overdraft fees and bounced check fees (In banking this is good but in fat loss it's not).

If you are going to include burning fat foods in your diet, you might as well include the best ones first. They are the ones that will speed up your weight and fat burn.

To torch stored fat, you want to train aerobically to give your body lots of oxygen. This is the key difference from high intensity training where no oxygen is present, lactic acid forms, and no fat is burned.

Some of these fat burning tips may sound too simple to be true. But they go back to the basics of what works. Burning fat is all about using up more calories than you take in.

We know that food cannot actually burn fat itself. To lose fat one has to burn more calories then he or she consumes and this is done by eating less and/or exercising more.

If the great outdoors is just not your thing, many exercise machines can provide an excellent fat burning workout. Stair climbers offer great resistance training, burning calories while toning up your leg and butt muscles.

In just three to five sessions of fat burning exercise you'll see your stamina and endurance improve. Although every time you do fat burning exercise you're burning off fat calories.

Fat burning foods and fat burning exercises are the ideal solution for individuals who are on a weight loss program. Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties.

Certain foods are better than others for fat burning. As a matter of fact there is so much confusion about which foods are really good for fat burning that people just don't know what to eat.

The natural place to start is by explaining what the fat burning zone actually is. The fat burning zone describes the cardiovascular exercise intensity level where you burn the highest percentage of calories from fat.

The time you eat. The best time to eat the largest portion of the foods you eat for the day is before two o'clock. Make sure you never skip a meal, especially breakfast. The process of eating actually starts your burner blasting.

Ironically, if you concentrate on performance improvement by adding intensity and variety to your workouts and blur the lines between strength training and conditioning training, you will see superior fat loss than programs claiming to target fat loss.
